Building FUNctional Professional Relationships

How do scientists find more engaging ways to talk about their work? Can we have fun and get to know colleagues in new, productive ways?

Scientists are playful, inquisitive, interesting people. Our improvisational workshops create a context in which scientists can celebrate who they are as people as they build their professional relationships. In this workshop for members of The Optical Society, Dr. Holmes co-creates with participants an environment in which they develop their capacity to generate and explore ideas with their colleagues through discovery-focused conversation.

One of the primary benefits of this instance of an Improv for STEM Professionals workshop is learning to build with the contributions of others, which is an essential skill for leadership in science.

The Optical Society (OSA) is the leading global professional association in optics and photonics. If you would like to learn more about an improvscience workshop designed to enhance the creativity and communication of your staff or faculty members, please contact
