Diversity and Inclusion

Diversity and Inclusion

We live and work in complex cultural environments with people whose values, race, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, mental or physical abilities, age, gender, and gender identity differ from our own. Learning to building inclusive environments depends on a group's ability to embrace diversity and create new ways of speaking and working with one another. The improvscience offerings help groups grow individually and collectively so that they and their organization are continuously building a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture.

What does it mean to have a voice? How do you cultivate your voice? When you are speaking, how do you know if you are heard? These questions can be difficult to address in person and are exacerbated in a remote access work life. In this webinar, the audience is invited to use their voice (verbal and non-verbal) to create an environment online and in-person where they and others can be seen and heard.

Dr. Holmes invites participants to explore ways of create welcoming, collaborative working groups. Through a brief talk, improvisational exercises and discussion, attendees discover creative ways to engage assumptions and transform uncomfortable conversations and situations into opportunities for growth and inclusion.
