Community building at AGU

CESTEMER brings together people from different disciplines and experiences and generates new collaborations and relationships. Such relationships are visible in San Francisco in the American Geophysical Union session "The Role of Scientists as Communicators: Practice, Research, and Reflection". Led by Sarah Dewitt and including Jeremy Hoffman who met one another at CESTEMER, the session highlights work in outreach and media, including Hoffman's explorations of flash mobs.

In good community building fashion, CESTEMER attendees in the Bay Area are gathering to expand upon their collegial, professional relationships.

We will continue to build the community we developed through the CESTEMER conference this week at the American Geophysical Union conference in San Francisco.
