Freedom and Design PechaKucha Event

Freedom and Design PechaKucha Event

Join us for an architectural PechaKucha event that explores the relationship between design and freedom. A PechaKucha is a primarily visual presentation traditionally composed of 20 slides, each with 20 seconds of commentary. If time permits, there will be an improv activity inspired by the work presented.

Amber invites you to join her as two remarkable speakers share their unique perspectives on the intersection of architecture and freedom and their groundbreaking work in PechaKucha inspired presentations.

The first speaker, Ann Sussman, will discuss her eye tracking research, the importance of understanding ourselves, and how much of our architecture has been shaped by war trauma. Architect, Researcher, and Author of Cognitive Architecture, Ann Sussman, bridges architecture and neuroscience and is President of the Human Architecture & Planning Institute (theHapi.org).

The second speaker, Aisha Densmore-Bey, will discuss the process of creating her award-winning film short, ROOM, and using art to discuss ethics in architecture, justice, liberation, and representation in the design space. Aisha Densmore-Bey is an Architect, Artist, and Filmmaker who has an eponymous Boston-based creative practice that specializes in architecture, interiors, graphic design, film, and art.
