"I KNOW THIS IS TRUE: Stories Of Freedom and Independence "

True personal stories are a powerful way for communicate about experiences, discoveries and transformations. Stories can be windows into worlds we might not otherwise know about that expand our awareness about other peoples' realities. They can be mirrors of our own struggles that make us feel less alone and more understood. These stories will be true accounts of personal journeys that deal with freedom and independence told by accomplished storytellers.

Gastor Almonte is a comedian and storyteller from Brooklyn, NY, who is a producer and board of the science storytelling nonprofit Story Collider. Television credits include Comedy Central's This Is Not Happening, Vice Live, and PBS Stories From The Stage (which won the 2020 Webby Peoples' Voice Award for Best Individual Performance. Timeout Magazine named him "One of your new comedy obsessions." His debut album immigrant Made debuted at #1 on ITunes Comedy, Google Play Comedy and Amazon Comedy charts.

Renee Joshua Porter is a New York-based actress, voiceover artist, playwright, Crisis Counselor and founder of The Burning Bush Foundation, which provides services to under-served youth. She is host of the Youtube cooking show Working With What You Got and currently a contestant on the FavChef competition.

Sue Barnum is a mostly-retired psychotherapist in San Antonio, TX, who had an illustrious career for almost 40 years, the high point of which was taking 13 trips - from 1993-1997 - to Russia to co-train psychologists in the art of psychodrama. She is co-author of The Therapist’s Creativity Handbook: Introducing Action and Play into Process Groups, presents at conferences nation-wide, and is currently writing a a memoir about her unusual life.

Jacqueline Grace Hayward is an actor/performance artist, improviser, speech coach and drama therapist who will join us from CA where she lives. She has worked extensively with personal story for community and individual healing,  is the writer/editor for improvscience, the company presenting The Freedom Festival, and currently writing a memoir about her very-interesting life.

Host Jude Treder-Wolff is host/creator of (mostly) TRUE THINGS, the first Long Island-based storytelling show which she originated in 2014 and has grown to be performed in venues around the country, including a teen edition, and a storytelling coach for individuals using story to communicate ideas in presentations and talks or onstage in performances. She has been featured on hundreds of storytelling shows, including RISK! live show and podcast, Story Collider live show and podcast Generation Women, PBS Stories From The Stage, The Armando Diaz Experience at Magnet Theater, Story District in Washington, D.C., Ex Fabula in Milwaukee, WI and many others. She designs and facilitates creative workshops applying improv and storytelling to personal and professional growth, through her company Lifestage, Inc. www.lifestage.me
