Dr. Raquell Holmes

Founder & Director

Dr. Holmes is a computational cell biologist and a pioneer in building inclusive, developmental science communities with improvisation. She earned her Ph.D. at Tufts Sackler School of Biomedicine, and completed her postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School. She later joined Boston University as a Research Assistant Professor and University of Connecticut Health Center as the Director of Outreach, Recruitment and Retention for the Center for Cell Analysis and Modeling. She is author of the book Cell Biologist's Guide to Modeling and Bioinformatics.

She uses her training in human development and performance to help scientists build inclusive, collaborative learning and research environments. She designs programs, gives workshops and delivers talks across the country that support scientists to cross disciplinary and cultural barriers and bring their passion and research to life.

Holmes is a Ronin Scholar and an Institute Associate of the East Side Institute of NY. She authored the Cell Biologist's Guide to Modeling and Bioinformatics and is the founding chair of Cultivating Ensembles. For her full bio, click here.
